The Docent Program is an essential part of the CFAS educational mission. Our wonderful volunteer, Barbara J. Lorry, Ph.D., is developing a docent training program for CFAS that will provide educational training for docents to engage visitors of all ages in interactive discussions on the historical significance of the McCulloch Pavilion, the history of the CFAS organization and the educational and informative exhibits that will be shown in our gallery beginning September 1.

Training will include lectures by the original architect of the building; the renovation/preservation architects of the building; CFAS board members; UF City Lab Sarasota faculty; architects and designers; and docents. In addition to ongoing training, there will be curatorial walk-throughs of new exhibitions and access to programs and events that enhance the docent’s education.

CFAS encourages volunteers that have enthusiasm, a desire to learn and a commitment to our mission and goals to join us as we begin our docent training program.

The first training session will begin on August 24 from 6pm-8pm. For questions or more information please email bjlorry@gmail.com or Register at CFAsrq.org
